PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolytic capacitor which is thin, improves freedom in component layout, simplifies a structure and manufacturing steps and especially improves manufacture efficiency and reliability, and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: In a solid electrolytic capacitor, an etching layer and a dielectric oxide film are formed on a metal plate formed from a valve metal which is etched on one side, and a solid electrolytic layer and a cathode layer are mounted on the dielectric oxide film. Surface enlargement processing is applied to one side of the metal plate formed from the valve metal by forming the etching layer through etching treatment, a part of the etching layer in an end portion of the metal plate to which the surface enlargement processing has been applied is partially drafted, and dielectric oxide coating is formed at least on the etching layer. A copper plate larger than the metal plate is deposited to a non-etched side of the metal plate and the copper plate is folded to cover a side face and the drafted portion of the metal plate, thereby forming an anode terminal. |
