PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent quality deterioration of spatial multiplex transmission in the uplink, in a communication system where spatial multiplex transmission is performed between a base station device and a plurality of terminals.SOLUTION: When the transmission unit 630 of a terminal 600 finishes transmission of signals, a communication control circuit 610 activates a timer waiting response from a base station device. When timeout of the timer is detected predetermined number of times continuously, the communication control circuit 610 instructs the transmission unit 630 to halve the number of subcarriers utilized for signal transmission, and the transmission unit 630 transmits signals with the number of subcarriers thus instructed. Subsequently, when a reception unit 640 receives a response from the base station device predetermined number of times continuously, the communication control circuit 610 instructs the transmission unit 630 to double the number of subcarriers used.
