Apparatus for forming a deformable ball made of a memory material comprising a mould 4 with a cavity 6 shaped to define a golf ball, a supply of mouldable, deformable material 10 which has memory characteristics to retain its shape after deformation and means 7 to impart a target onto the material. The material 10 may be aluminium foil or modelling clay and the target may be a sticker, paint or an indentation. The mould 4 may be made of two separate parts 2 and 5 which are blocks of epoxy resin or metal. Also disclosed is a method of assessing a golf swing comprising moulding a ball of this nature, having a user take a swing with a club aiming at the target and observing the point of impact to determine whether the swing was sweet, hooked, sliced, topped or shanked. |
