PURPOSE: A smart LED lighting apparatus for plant cultivation is provided to control optical environment in an optimum condition during a cultivation process, and to maximize the optical usage efficiency by the growth of plants. CONSTITUTION: A light source unit (100) includes an LED module (110) and an LED controller (120). A power supply connector (200) is capable of supplying power and transmitting data through power line communications. A sensor (300) detects surrounding temperature, carbon dioxide density, humidity, light quantity, and photosynthesis photon flux density (PPFD) of surrounding optical environment. A memory unit (400) stores growth information including sunrise and sunset time information by region and season, growth stages and kinds of plants, light quantity, temperature, carbon dioxide density, humidity, and PPFD. A controller (500) compares surrounding environment data detected from the sensor with the information stored in the memory unit for controlling the light quantity of the light source unit.
