PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved device and method for separating a wishbone from a portion of a carcass of poultry.SOLUTION: In the device for separating a wishbone from a coracoid, a support for wishbone joint cutters (111) is movable along a path between the outside and inside of the carcass. When the support is moved from the outside to the inside along the path, during at least a part of the movement, the wishbone joint cutters are set at their inactive position. When the support is moved from the inside to the outside, during at least a part of the movement, the wishbone joint cutters are set at their active position. At the active position, the wishbone joint cutters are projected from the outer contour of the support and are extended to between the coracoid and the wishbone or to between bone members of wishbone joints. |
