A backlight assembly with reduced noise during power on and off and a liquid crystal display device comprising the same are provided. The backlight assembly comprises an alignment plate having a socket insertion groove which includes sidewalls of the socket insertion groove, a socket fixed to the socket insertion groove, and a bottom chassis wherein the alignment plate is fixed. The socket includes a stepped part located at a first housing, a second housing, and in between the first housing and the second housing. At least one protruded part is formed on the inner surface of sidewalls of the socket insertion groove, and the outer face of the socket contacts with the stepped part. |
