The present invention relates to a flame retarding agent containing a phosphoroamidate compound represented by general formula (I): [in the general formula (I), R1 and R2 independently denote an alkyl group having 1-3 carbon atoms, R11 and R12 independently denote an alkylene group having 1-3 carbon atoms, R13 denotes an alkylene group having 1-6 carbon atoms, B1 denotes a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms, A denotes a hydrogen atom or an organic group represented by general formula (Ia): (in the general formula (Ia), R3 and R4 independently denote an alkyl group having 1-3 carbon atoms, R14 and R15 independently denote an alkylene group having 1-3 carbon atoms, and B2 denotes a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms). In the general formula (I), if B1 is an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms, and A is a hydrogen atom, B1 and R13-A may bond and, together with the nitrogen atom that bonds B1 and R13-A, form a non-aromatic nitrogen-containing heterocycle.
