PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology which inhibits the deterioration of a fuel cell.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system 100 includes: a fuel cell 10; and a control part 20 controlling an output current of the fuel cell 10. The control part 20 executes normal output control for causing the fuel cell 10 to output a target current set according to an output demand from the exterior when the output of the target current of the fuel cell 10 is not in a restriction range pre-set for inhibiting the dry condition of a membrane electrode junction material 5. Meanwhile, the control part 20 executes power generation body protection control for changing the target current to a current beyond the restriction range and causing the fuel cell 10 to output the changed target current when the output of the target current of the fuel cell 10 is in the restriction range.
