The adapter (1) has contact retainers (2) including openings (14-16) in an upper side of the adapter. A contact spring is arranged below the openings in the adapter. A plug contact of an installation device is inserted from top through the openings into the contact retainers. The contact is connected with the contact spring of the contact retainers for contacting a busbar (3), which is received in the adapter. The contact spring exerts a preset contact pressure on the associated busbar. A contact tongue is formed by middle and outer bent sections of the spring.
