PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reverse input cutoff clutch capable of transmitting a unidirectional input acting on an input member to an output member by surely cutting off a bidirectional reverse input acting on the output member to prevent it from being transmitted to the input member.SOLUTION: A reverse input cutoff clutch includes an input member 1 which has an input engagement piece of a right-left asymmetrical structure, an output member 3 which has an output engagement piece that engages with the input engagement piece, an engagement member 5, and an outer ring member 7. Even when a reverse input acts on the output member 3 in any direction, the engagement member 5 locks the output member 3 and the outer ring member 9 to cut off the reverse input. When an input acts on the input member 1 in one direction, the input member 1 directly presses and rotates the output member 3 and the engagement member 5 to cause I/O transmission. When an input acts on the output member 3 in the other direction, the input member 1 is allowed to press only the output member 3, so that the engagement member 5 puts the output member 3 and the outer ring member 9 into a locked state and prevents input/output transmission. |
