A structure for preventing a needle bar from falling in an embroidery machine is provided to prevent a driving force of a main shaft from being transferred to a needle bar of an undriven head when some heads are driven and the other heads are not driven. A taping embroidery machine has a sewing head for sewing a band type member, such as a tape string and a cord string on a stuff to be sewed. A presser foot-driving lever(121) moves a presser foot upwardly, interlockingly with a presser foot-driving motor. A controller-holding crank(135) is joined to a controller-holding lever. When one end of the presser foot-driving lever rotates an end portion of the controller-holding lever upwardly, the controller-holding crank is rotated. A roller unit of the controller-holding crank is rotated by rotation of the controller-holding crank, thereby disjoining a controller from a needle bar holder(115). |
