PURPOSE: A method of manufacturing exothermic materials is provided to dramatically reduce manufacturing cost of the exothermic materials and to manufacture high value products by reducing scarping dust which is recycled in iron mills at low cost into high value reduced iron material. CONSTITUTION: A method of manufacturing exothermic materials uses scarping dust as an exothermic source for direct exothermic material manufacturing by drying, sieving, pulverizing and sorting scarping dust generated from scarping process of hot rolling and cold rolling of an iron mill. The scarping dust comprises 73-76 wt% of iron oxide, 0.0018 wt% of carbon, 0.001-0.015 wt% of sulfur, 0.006-0.015 wt% of phosphorus, 0.2-0.55 wt% of silicon and 0.1-1.6 wt% of manganese.
