The present invention relates to the field of communications. Provided in an embodiment of the present invention are a positioning method, client side and positioning system, capable of accurate positioning, enabling the client side to accurately learn the position thereof and further facilitating user usage; the indoor positioning method in the embodiment comprises: the client side transmits a position request instruction to at least three access points; the client side receives from each access point the response message of the request instruction; the client side transmits a corresponding measurement report message to each access point, so that each access point can respectively obtain the radio signal travel time from the access point to the client side; the client side receives a position estimation result from a network side, the position estimation result being the coordinate position of a sampling point corresponding to the obtained sampling time with the minimum time difference value after the network side conducts a comparison calculation between the radio signal travel time received from each access point and the premeasured sampling time of multiple sampling points. |
