<p>The method involves providing a SMART type lithium-ion battery (1) with a constant charging current and a charging voltage regulated using a charge circuit (6) of a charger (5) by compensating a voltage drop generated by the internal resistance (4) of the battery using a compensating circuit (12). A variation of the internal resistance is detected, and the compensation is adapted according to the detected variation. A temperature of the battery is acquired, and the compensation is adapted according to the temperature.
