摘要 <p>Provided are a drive method for an electrophoretic display device, etc., that obtain DC balance and reduce variation in size or tint of a display image that may arise when using partial drive formats. The drive method includes: a first image display step (S2) in which a first image is displayed in a first color in a display unit; a first image adjustment step (S3) in which the background of the first image is displayed in a second color; a first image removal step (S4) in which the background of the first image is displayed in the first color; a second image display step (S12) in which the background of a second image is displayed in the second color; a second image adjustment step (S13) in which the second image is displayed in the first color; and a second image removal step (S14) in which the second image is displayed in the second color. The drive method uses a partial drive format whereby a voltage is applied to a common electrode on the basis of a drive pulse signal that repeats a first and a second potential, a voltage is applied to a pixel electrode on the basis of the inverse of the drive pulse signal or a normal signal, and images are overwritten.</p>
