PURPOSE: A portable terminal for dual display of a broadcasting receiver and a method thereof are provided to display desired output screens through an HDMI(High Definition Multimedia Interface) signal transmitted from the portable terminal by transmitting the input signal of a user to the portable terminal. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal receives one or more input signals from a broadcasting receiver (201). The portable terminal generates an output signal according to the input signal by analyzing the input signal (202,203). The portable terminal converts the generated output signal into HDMI data (204). The portable terminal converts the HDMI data into a USB (Universal Serial Bus) signal to transmit the USB signal to the broadcasting receiver(205).
