<p>The present invention provides a method for automatically detecting and allocating physical cell identity (PCI), comprising: obtaining the planning data of the cell of the base station and setting the required parameters for automatically allocating PCI by the cell; dividing the network area of the base station into clusters according to the planning data and the required parameters for automatically allocating PCI by the cell, and obtaining the edge clusters and center area clusters; computing and obtaining the PCI range usable for the center area clusters and the PCI range pre-set for the edge clusters; automatically allocating PCI for the cell of the base station according to the PCI range usable for the center area clusters and the PCI range pre-set for the edge clusters. The present invention also provides an apparatus for automatically detecting and allocating PCI. The application of the present invention can reduce the PCI conflict and confusion among cells, and resolve the conflict between the finitude of the PCI amount and the hugeness of cell amount.</p> |
