The heating, ventilation or air conditioning system (24) has a fan (26) and a heat exchanger (36) that are provided within a common housing (50). An electrical heating element (42) is arranged in channel (38) through which air from fan is distributed to interior of motor car. The electrical heating element is arranged upstream or downstream of the fan. A controller (28) is arranged to control the electrical heating element and fan so as to regulate the temperature within the interior of motor car. An independent claim is included for motor car.
