<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hub device wherein the hub device can be shortened in a width dimension of its hub case, and a hub case and an internal gear of a hub device with a clutch can be diverted for a hub device without a clutch. <P>SOLUTION: A hub case 8 houses an electric motor 16, an internal rotating member 17, a decelerator 19 that lowers the rotational speed of the electric motor 16 and transmits the rotational speed to the internal rotating member 17, and a one-way clutch 20 that transmits the rotation of the internal rotating member 17 to the hub case 8 but does not transmit the rotation of the hub case 8 to the internal rotating member 17. The internal rotating member 17 comprises an internally toothed gear 26. The decelerator 19 comprises a sun gear 25 that is rotated by the electric motor 16, and a planetary gear 27 that meshes with the sun gear 25 and the internally toothed gear 26. The one-way clutch 20 comprises a ratchet pawl 31 disposed on the outer periphery of the internally toothed gear 26, and a ratchet gear 32 disposed within the hub case 8.
