<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a risk of executing printing while an erroneous kind of set tray is attached, to further improve a throughput of printing. <P>SOLUTION: A printing apparatus includes: a replaceable set tray for setting a material to be printed; an ink-ejecting unit for ejecting ink onto the material to be printed corresponding to printing data; a storage unit for storing a kind of the set tray designated in the printing data in the execution of the printing; a detecting unit for detecting the kind of the set tray; and a control unit for controlling a tray-detecting operation in which the detection unit detects the kind of the set tray before starting of the printing. The control unit compares the kind of the set tray designated in the newly obtained printing data with the kind of the set tray stored in the storage unit, to execute the tray-detecting operation in a case of mismatching, and to pass the tray-detecting operation in a case of matching. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
