<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber unit and the like that excel in handling ease and branching workability, and can securely bundle optical fiber cores. <P>SOLUTION: Optical fiber cores 3 are cores measuring 0.5 mm in outer diameter for instance. On external circumferences of the multiple optical fiber cores 3, bundle materials 5a and 5b are disposed. The bundle materials 5a and 5b can be made of resin tapes of polyester or the like for instance. The bundle materials 5a and 5b are spirally wound in reverse directions to each other around the external circumferences of the multiple optical fiber cores 3. Therefore, the bundle materials 5a and 5b cross each other at prescribed intervals in the longitudinal direction of an optical fiber unit 1. The intersections of the bundle materials 5a and 5b constitute adhering parts 7. The maximum peel strengths of the adhering parts 7 between the bundle materials 5a and 5b should be desirably 0.01 N or more and 2.0 N or less as measured by the JIS K6854-3 T type peel test, and more preferably 0.01 N or more and 0.5 N or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
