<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a translucent decorative material A, which exhibits an appearance of a normal wood decorative material without exposing a wood grain pattern of the back side on the surface side when there is no light from the back side, and in which the wood grain pattern of the backside, together with the wood grain pattern of the surface, clearly and sharply emerges on the surface when light is incident from the back side. <P>SOLUTION: A translucent decorative material A is provided, which includes a laminate 11 having a sliced veneer layer 1 comprising a wood thin veneer having translucency subjected to WPC treatment by the impregnation of resin, a concealing layer 5 disposed at the back surface side of the sliced veneer layer 1, and a color design layer 6 disposed at the back surface side of the concealing layer 5 and having translucency in which a wood grain pattern 7 having a thicker grain density than the sliced veneer layer 1 or having different color tone is formed. The concealing layer 5 has translucency at such a degree that it hides the wood grain pattern 7 of the color design layer 6 from a laminate 11 surface when there is no light from the back side of the laminate 11, and causes the wood grain pattern 7 of the color design layer 6 to emerge on the laminate 11 surface when there is the light from the back side of the laminate 11.
