PURPOSE: A light emitting device is provided to improve a white conversion ratio using a selective transmission layer. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting structure includes a first semiconductor layer, a second semiconductor layer(166), and an active layer. A selective transmission layer(170) is arranged in the upper part of the light emitting structure and has electric conductivity. The selective transmission layer includes a first layer(172), a third layer(176), and a second layer(174) arranged between the first layer and the third layer. The first layer and the second layer have different refractive indexes. The third layer has the same refractive index as the first layer. A light extraction structure(168) is formed in a part of the upper surface of the second semiconductor layer or the whole surface.
