<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus detector capable of properly performing focus detection of an optical system. <P>SOLUTION: A focus detector includes: an imaging part 22 having imaging pixels for inputting an image signal corresponding to an image imaged by an optical system and a pair of pixel columns for focus detection receiving a pair of light fluxes subjected to the pupil division; a diaphragm 34 which restricts light flux made incident on the imaging part 22; a phase difference detection part for performing a shift operation for calculation of a correlation amount for all of a predetermined shift range, while one-dimensionally and relatively shifting a first data column and a second data column outputted from the pair of pixel columns for focus detection, respectively, and detecting a shift amount by which an extreme value of the correlation amount is obtained, thus detecting a focus state; and a setting part for setting an effective shift range for obtaining the extreme value of the correlation amount corresponding to a diaphragm value. The phase difference detection part detects the shift amount by which the extreme value of the correlation amount is obtained, by using the calculation result in the effective shift range among the shift calculation result performed for all of the predetermined shift range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
