The process of treating textile by treatment with (a) at least one alkali metal or ammonium salt of a copolymer containing the following comonomers in polymerized form: (a1) (meth)acrylic acid, (a2) (meth)acrylonitrile and (a3) at least one C1-C10 alkyl ester of an ethylenically unsaturated C3-C10 carboxylic acid, (b) at least one polyvinyl alcohol, (c) at least one polyester having ionic groups, and (d) water.
