<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of reducing processing needed for smiling face photography, and an image display device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The camera 1 includes imaging means 12, 13 and 14 of picking up subject images and outputting image data, a face detecting means 20 of detecting faces included in the picked-up images based upon the image data, face setting means 20 and 23 of setting a face to be discriminated, a face discriminating means 20 of discriminating the face set by the face setting means 20 and 23 from the faces detected by the face detecting means 20, an object determining means 20 of determining the face discriminated by the face discriminating means 20 as a smiling-face decision object, a change deciding means 20 of deciding whether the face as the smiling-face decision object determined by the object determining means 20 changes into a smiling face, and a photography control means 20 of performing photography control so that when the change deciding means 20 decides the change into the smiling face, image data captured and output by the imaging means 12, 13 and 14 are recorded in a storage medium 51.
