SPHINGOMYELIN MEASUREMENT METHOD AND MEASUREMENT KIT

Provided is a simple and accurate method for measuring sphingomyelin in a sample, and a kit therefor. The method for measuring sphingomyelin in a sample is characterized by the following steps: reacting the sample with a phospholipase D that reacts with phosphatidylcholine but does not react with sphingomyelin and lysophosphatidylcholine, a lysophospholipase or a monoacylglycerol lipase (MGLP), and a choline oxidase; removing the hydrogen peroxide generated thereby; reacting the product with a phospholipase D that reacts with sphingomyelin but does not react with glycerol-3-phosphorylcholine and free fatty acids, and a choline oxidase; and measuring the hydrogen peroxide generated thereby.
