PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device, which improves safety by reducing a pressure which increases in a failure in a lamp case by relieving to an external, and preventing drop of a translucent cover and failure of a lamp cover or the like. SOLUTION: The lighting device includes a light source, a lighting circuit for lighting the light source, a case 2 having a light projection opening 2b and a housing part for housing the light source and the lighting circuit, a front glass 4 arranged on the light projection opening 2b of the case 2, and a thin part 5 provided on the case so that a closed state is released, the thin part is broken and opened by a pressure in the housing part, and an inner pressure is relieved to the external when the inner pressure in the housing part of the case increases beyond a predetermined pressure.
