PURPOSE: A system model reference system using a legacy system model and a method thereof are provided to construct a new system model based on a legacy system model file and various legacy diagram model files, thereby supplying convenience for searching in the legacy system model. CONSTITUTION: A legacy model storage(110) stores a legacy diagram model file and a legacy system model file for a legacy system model. A search model input unit(120) receives detail information for a system model which a user desires to develop. A model reuse analysis unit(130) analyzes reuse of the legacy diagram model file and the legacy system model file by using the detail information. A model reads the legacy system model file or the legacy diagram model file corresponding to an analysis result.
