摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cladding tube achieving enhancement of high-temperature characteristics and improvement in generating efficiency, and a nuclear reactor equipped therewith. <P>SOLUTION: A cladding tube 40 relating to one embodiment of the invention has a double-layered structure consisting of: a body part 41 made of an iron-based material; and an internal layer 42 made of a carbon-based material. Nuclear fuel is kept inside of the internal layer. The iron-based material has better high-temperature strength but has a higher neutron absorption rate than a zirconium-based material. However, the carbon-based material has an extremely-low neutron absorption rate. The cladding tube realizes neutron absorption at the same level as a zirconium alloy cladding tube and also realizes better high-temperature characteristics and mechanical strength characteristics than the zirconium alloy cladding tube, by combining the iron-based material with the carbon-based material. As a result, the high-temperature characteristics of the cladding tube are enhanced. Since the enhanced high-temperature characteristics realize high temperature and high pressure of the coolant, the generating efficiency is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
