<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and an imaging method capable of obtaining any multispectral image. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus of the present invention includes a lens optical system L, an imaging device N, and an arrayed optical device K. In the imaging device N, a plurality of first pixels P1 and a plurality of second pixels P2 are each arranged in rows in a row direction, and a row of the first pixels P1 and a row of the second pixels P2 are arranged alternating with each other in a column direction. The lens optical system L includes, in a plane perpendicular to an optical axis in the vicinity of a stop, first area D1 that transmits therethrough light of a first wavelength band and a second area D2 that transmits therethrough light of a second wavelength band different from the first wavelength band.
