<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the breakage of a plastic housing of a flow control valve caused by freezing. <P>SOLUTION: The flow rate of hot or cold water is controlled by moving a valve shaft 22 mounted with valve bodies 24a and 24b back and forth in a hot or cold water passage 12 formed in the plastic housing 10. A bearing member 30 supporting the valve shaft 22 has a space 34 inside which is the hot or cold water passage 12, and installed while being inserted from an end of the plastic housing 10. An air reservoir 36 is formed between the bearing member 30 and the inner peripheral surface of the housing 10. In this way, since the air reservoir 36 acts as a thermal insulation layer, a decrease in ambient temperature is hardly transmitted to the hot or cold water passage 12 in the bearing member 30, and the hot or cold water passage 12 in the bearing member 30 can be frozen at the last. Therefore, since the pressure of the hot or cold water can be decreased by such actions as pushing the inserted bearing member 30 back by the pressure of the hot or cold water, even the plastic housing 10 can prevent breakage caused by freezing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
