Class 20.(2) Bars of right angle section for bolting together to form structures comprise in each flange equally spaced slots c of right angle chevron shape. The bars are shown bolted together in various relative positions. The bolts may be coach bolts in which the length of the squared shank is equal to the thickness of the metal or may be longer so as to engage in both slots and lock the two bars in position. Another bolt, Fig. 12 (not shown), has a head that may be passed through a slot and turned to engage the flange. Fig. 7 shows a modified bar having one flange wider than the other and slots on this flange having one arm longer than the other. Webs of metal may be provided at the apex of the slots for increased strength. The bar may be of metal or plastic. |
