<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knitted fabric with a good uneven touch. <P>SOLUTION: A knitting machine in which long butt needles and short butt needles are alternately disposed is used, and 8 courses are knitted as one set for obtaining a knitted texture of a knitted fabric. In the first two courses, the short butt needles are used for knitting and the long butt needles are used for making a tuck stitch, and in the following two courses, both the short butt needles and the long butt needles are used for plain knitting.
