摘要 PURPOSE: A MAC(Medium Access Control) layer architecture for supporting an enhanced uplink is provided to support an EU(enhanced uplink) by improving an MAC layer architecture and function. CONSTITUTION: A MAC-e(120) of a WTRU(Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit) receives data to be transmitted through an E-DCH(Enhanced Dedicated Channel) from a RLC(Radio Link Control) layer(140) of the WTRU. An EU(User Equipment) rate request entity(122) transmits a rate request to a node-B(200). The node-B responses with a rate grant. The EU rate request entity informs that a radio resource can be used for data transmission to a priority processing entity(124). The priority processing entity multiplexes data according to the priority of the data. A TFC(Transport Format Combination) selection entity selects TFC for the data. Data is transmitted with an allocated H-ARQ(hybrid-automatic repeat request) process through E-DCH(Enhanced Dedicated Channel). A node-B transmits a feedback signal through a DL(Down Link) EU signaling channel.
