Composite edge (20) of an insulating glazing, comprises: at least two transparent substrates, which are spaced parallel to each other, and limits a substrate gap (11); at least one spacer (12) arranged peripherally between the adjacent substrates, where at a respective side wall (18) of the spacer, a substrate is present; a sealing agent (15), which is respectively introduced in a gap between the substrate and the side wall of the spacer; and an additional sealing element arranged at the end of the gap between the substrate and the side wall of the spacer, pointing the substrate gap. An independent claim is also included for a device for producing the composite edge, comprising an applicator exhibiting two partial regions, respectively having a discharge nozzle, a first partial region for receiving the sealing agent, and a second partial region for receiving the sealing element, where the two discharge nozzles are arranged adjacent to each other.
