In a blowing frame for tempering glass sheets, the frame having an air supply pipe with a plurality of passageways extending througl a wall thereof, the inner end of each such passageway is located radially inwardly of the wall of the pipe. The air supply pipe 3 is generally cylindrical with an enlarged protruding section 6 and a re-entrant ridge 7 extending towards the centre of the pipe, the passageways extending at intervals through the ridges 6, 7. Each passageway has a cylindrical outer portion 8, a slightly tapered middle portion 9 and a more steeply tapered inner portion 10 within the ridge 7.
