The method involves conveying rotating dampening rollers (11,12) from reservoir to rotary printing form (4). The speed and direction of rotating dampening rollers on the surface of printing form are set based on the print image, properties of printing ink and properties of dampening rollers. The phase position of reciprocating movement of dampening rollers is adjusted based on the speed and direction of dampening rollers.
