<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that positive participation of a user is required for setting a gradation region, and thereby the working efficiency is poor. <P>SOLUTION: A histogram having one axis indicating a display gradation and the other axis indicating a frequency is created about an original image. Subsequently, the section from one valley to an adjacent valley is set as one selection region for all valleys appearing in the histogram, and the whole region of a display gradation range is divided into a plurality of selection regions. Thereafter, at least one candidate region is selected among the plurality of selection regions, and an image obtained by subjecting the original image to gradation conversion so as to emphasize the gradation information of the candidate region is displayed on a screen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
