<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a burnout accident on an electrical path with a switch connected by protecting the switch and devices on the electrical path with the switch connected against arcing and overheating. <P>SOLUTION: The switch having a power supply side terminal connected with a DC power supply and a load side terminal for outputting power from the DC power supply includes: a contact inserted in an electrical path connecting the power supply side terminal and the load side terminal to make or break the electrical path between the DC power supply and the load; an input terminal supplied with a control signal to break the contact; an overheat detection circuit for outputting an overheat detection signal when detecting that a temperature of the power supply side terminal or load side terminal or a temperature about the terminal is a predetermined temperature or higher; an arc detection circuit for outputting an arc detection signal when an arc discharge detected via the electrical path continues for a predetermined time; and a trip unit for breaking the contact when at least any one of the control signal, the overheat detection signal and the arc detection signal is generated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
