PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform start up of a communication application in an easy and highly secured manner.

SOLUTION: A portable terminal 10 comprises: a screen lock release unit 1057 for, when a password authentication unit 1059 identifies a person as a user who starts up a communication application and an icon operation acquisition unit 1055 acquires a predetermined operation, releasing a lock state of a touch screen 102; and an application control unit 1056 for, following the release of the lock state in the touch screen 102, starting up the communication application to establish a communication state with a contact indicated by a contact icon.
