<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent resources of a repeating installation from being wasted. <P>SOLUTION: When a connection state of connection with an apparatus connected to an expander 10 changes, the expander 10 determines whether the change is temporary based upon a factor of the change in connection state. When it is determined that the change is temporary, the expander 10 quits updating information stored in a direct table 16a and associated with the connection state. When it is determined that the change in connection state is not temporary, the expander 10 updates the information stored in the direct table 16a and associated with the connection state based upon the change in connection state. Then, the expander 10 quits reporting the change in connection state to a high-order apparatus above the expander 10 when the change in connection state is temporary, but reports the change in connection state to the high-order apparatus when the change in connection state is not temporary. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
