PURPOSE: A programmable logic controller(PLC) system is provided to increase the number of input/output contacts of a PLC by combining methods for connecting a remote input/output module to the PLC. CONSTITUTION: A programmable logic controller(PLC) comprises a first input/output terminal(160). The first input/output terminal performs a data input/output process. A remote input/output module comprises a second input/output terminal. The remote input/output module communicates with the PLC. The remote input/output module receives or outputs data of the PLC through the second input/output terminal. An expansion input/output module(300a,300b) comprises a third input/output terminal. The expansion input/output module transmits or receives the data of the PLC. The expansion input/output module extends an input/output range with respect to the data.
