<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element with a simple configuration which shows high reflectivity on one surface and shows excellent low reflectivity on the other surface. <P>SOLUTION: An optical element includes a substrate 1 and plural metal projections including a first metallic material and a second metallic material on the substrate 1. One of the first metallic material and the second metallic material is an absorbing metallic material and the other one is a polarizing metallic material, and there exists a region where the ratio of the first metallic material occupied in the metal projections continuously becomes higher toward the substrate 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
