The invention relates to a system (10) for storing and following up at least one total emission value of a predetermined component related to the consumption of services or products by a user, comprising means (30) for storing said total emission value, means (12) for receiving input data concerning transactions between the user and at least one service or product provider and/or consumption information on a service or product, means (38) for processing the received input data for extracting partial values therefrom, and means (40) for updating the total emission value using the extracted partial values.
