Apparatus for sharpening the rotatable blades of a cylinder mower is disclosed. The apparatus includes at least one clip (2) and an elongate member (1) with an abrasive surface (4) on one side and, on the other side, location means such as a ridge (6) and engagement means (5) for the clip(s). The clip(s) to hold the member (1) against the counter blade (8) with the location means (6) lying against the rear of the cutting edge thereof and the edge (10) of the elongate member lying along the side of the counter blade (8) from which the cutting edge projects. Sharpening occurs when the rotatable blades are rotated as they are drawn across the abrasive surface. |
