The method involves evaluating stroke value of a pressure independent control valve. Constant difference in pressure is maintained over a valve body such that an automatic controller action is reached to make a valve authority equal to 100 percent. Return temperature measurement of an associated fluid-flowed through consumer is measured such that heating and/or a cooling performance is enabled. The pressure independent control valve is combined with a microcontroller over a display. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining volume and mass flow through power main.
