<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a proper reproduction signal as a barcode-shaped recording area (BCA) in an optical recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The recording area (BCA) in which information is recorded by a reflection pattern is provided, in which the barcode-shaped reflection pattern is formed by forming high reflectance areas and low reflectance areas which alternately appear seen in a track line direction in a state where the high reflectance areas and the low reflectance areas respectively continue in a track pitch direction. In the BCA, the low reflectance areas are formed by pit strings. When the signal level of a reproduction signal obtained from reflected light in the high reflectance areas is defined as "H", the signal level of a reproduction signal obtained from reflected light in the low reflectance areas is defined as "S", and the modulation degree of the reproduction signal obtained from the reflected light in the low reflectance areas is defined as "M", the high reflectance areas and the low reflectance areas are formed so as to satisfy S+M/2≤0.6H. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
