PURPOSE: A residual water reducing device for reducing the temperature difference between the top and bottom surfaces of shape steel is provided to efficiently eliminate residual water from the top surface of shape steel. CONSTITUTION: A residual water reducing device for reducing the temperature difference between the top and bottom surfaces of shape steel comprises a cooling water nozzle unit(110) and a suction unit(120). The cooling water nozzle unit jets cooling water(112) to the top and bottom surfaces of a hot-rolled shape steel(30). The suction unit inhales residual water on the top surface of the shape steel. The suction unit comprises a suction port(122), a transfer nozzle(124), an exhaust port, and a suction pump. The suction port inhales residual water. The transfer nozzle transfers the inhaled residual water to the exhaust port. The exhaust port exhausts the transferred residual water. The suction pump is connected to the transfer nozzle.
