PURPOSE: System and method of preventing freeze and burst of a ballast tank for a marine floating material in an extremely low temperature area are provided to prevent freeze and burst of a ballast tank by heating heat transfer medium using waste heat of flue gas emitting while a main engine operates. CONSTITUTION: A system for preventing freeze and burst of a ballast tank for a marine floating material in an extremely low temperature area comprises a ballast tank(10), a circulating cycle, and a heat exchanger(30). The ballast tank stores or discharges seawater to control the draft of a marine floating material. The circulating cycle forms a closed circuit so that the heat transfer medium is circulated through the ballast tank. The heat exchanger receives waste heat from a main engine and heats the heat transfer medium circulating in the circulating cycle. |
